Selami Uras was appointed Executive Vice President, Turkey in 2016. Mr. Uras is the legal representative for TransAtlantic Petroleum in Turkey and the senior executive over finance, land, and operations for TransAtlantic Petroleum’s operating regions. Mr. Uras joined TransAtlantic Petroleum as Resident Representative/Manager in Turkey in 2006. Prior to joining TransAtlantic Petroleum in 2006, Mr. Uras served as the Resident General Manager of ARCO Oil and Gas Company (ARCO) in Turkey for 15 years. Mr. Uras led the Turkish branch until ARCO’s merger with BP in Corporation, managing the acquisition of 2D and 3D seismic data and its processing. During the period between 1980 and 1985, Mr. Uras participated in several seismic acquisition projects for GSI in Turkey, including projects with Esso, Chevron, ARCO, Amoco, Shell, Mobil, Wintershall, Huffco Petroleum Corporation, a private American company, and Turkish national oil company TPAO.
