Carlos de la Vega is Vice President of Marketing and Commercial Development for Sempra Infrastructure’s LNG business line. In this role, he is responsible for all marketing and commercial development activities in support of the company’s natural gas liquefaction export projects in North America.
Previously, de la Vega served as Director of Business Development for Sempra Infrastructure’s hydrogen projects and other net-zero applications. He also served as Director of Marketing and Commercial Development for Sempra LNG.
Prior to joining Sempra in 2015, de la Vega served in various roles at Qatargas and Qatar Petroleum, including as Head of LNG Marketing, East of Suez and as Shareholder Representative for Golden Pass LNG and South Hook LNG terminals.
De la Vega was Commercial Director for LNG start-up venture NorthernStar Natural Gas, responsible for the development of regasification terminals in the U.S. West Coast. He began his energy career as a Process Engineer with BP Oil and progressed with increasing seniority through both financial and commercial roles with El Paso Natural Gas.
De la Vega holds a master’s in business administration from Tulane University in New Orleans and a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Texas A&M University at College Station.
