BIO

Evangelos Marinakis is the founder and Chairman of Capital Maritime & Trading Corp and a leading shipowner in the maritime industry. Capital Maritime and its affiliated companies operate a total fleet of 109 ships with an overall tonnage of approximately 11.4 million tonnes (dwt), across the tanker, container, LNG, LPG/Ammonia, LCO2, and dry bulk segments. The fleet under management includes the vessels of Nasdaq-listed Capital Product Partners L.P. (‘CPLP’).

Since 2010, Mr. Marinakis has been recognized amongst Lloyd's List "One Hundred Most Influential People in the Shipping Industry" annually, while at the 2107 Lloyd's List Greek Awards, he was voted "Greek Shipping Personality of the Year". He is also a BoD member of the Union of Greek Shipowners.

Mr. Marinakis is the sole shareholder of Alter Ego Media S.A. which owns and operates Mega TV station, the most authoritative and top-selling daily and Sunday newspapers “Ta Nea” and “To Vima”, a portfolio of magazines, a number of digital media including in.gr, ot.gr, and a radio station.

Since 2010, Mr. Marinakis is the owner of the emblematic, Olympiacos FC while in 2017, he became the majority owner of the historic Nottingham Forest FC.

Mr. Marinakis also actively supports UNICEF, the 'Miltiadis Marinakis Professorship for Modern Greek Language and Culture' at the Ohio State University, the Kazantzakis Museum in Crete, and several charitable causes in Greece and around the world.
