Kunio Nohata

Mr. Nohata has been working for Tokyo Gas for more than 30 years since joining in 1984. Through his career with the company, he has engaged in various fields such as overseas business development, infrastructure development, energy sales & service planning, energy solution business, LNG procurement and power business, as well as experiencing as President & CEO of Tokyo Gas Engineering Solution, subsidiary of Tokyo Gas Co.Ltd., specializing in engineering business.

He holds a Bachelor and Master of Mechanical Sciences and Engineering from Tokyo Institute of Technology.


Steve Hill

Steve is a member of Shell’s Integrated Gas and Shell’s Trading & Supply Leadership Teams with responsibility for Shell’s global LNG, natural gas and power marketing and trading activities. Steve is also responsible for Shell’s natural gas market development activities, Shell’s Integrated Gas strategy and Shell’s gas advocacy efforts.

Prior to the Shell purchase of BG Group, Steve was a member of BG Group’s Corporate Executive Team with responsibility for BG’s global LNG, natural gas and crude oil marketing and trading activities, and BG’s shipping business. Steve was involved in building and optimizing BG’s LNG business since joining the company in 2002 in roles in the UK, USA and Singapore.

Prior to joining BG Group, Steve worked for Mobil and subsequently ExxonMobil, in business development and trading roles in the UK, USA, Singapore, and Qatar.

Steve graduated from Durham University in the UK with a degree in Engineering and Management.

Thomas Maurisse

Thomas Maurisse started his career in 2007 in the French Ministry of Economy, Finance & Industry where he became, in 2011, Chief of Staff of the State Secretary for Consumption, Small Enterprises, Trade & Services and Deputy Chief of Staff of the Minister of Economy, Finance & Industry.

Thomas Maurisse joined Total in 2012 in the Refining & Chemicals Branch where he worked successively in Germany as Head of the economic division of the Leuna refinery, then in Belgium as General Manager of the Supply Sales and Optimization activities for the North and East Europe zone.

In 2017, he joined the Exploration & Production Branch as Strategy and Sales Director of Total EP Nigeria.

In 2019, he joined the Gas, Renewables & Power Branch as Deputy Senior Vice President LNG.

Jonty Shepard

Jonty joined BP Oil in 1992, where he performed several roles in operations, trading and refining. In 1998 he took over the business development team looking after the Former Soviet Union, Mediterranean and Africa.  During this period, he took on the role of BP nominated director in the setup of a new internet company the Intercontinental Exchange, which is now the world’s third largest exchange.

 In 2001 Jonty moved to Vietnam to be the marketing manager for upstream.  In this role, he was responsible for negotiating gas sales agreements with the State Oil and Power companies and working with the World Bank to finance new Power stations.  Following this, he moved to Angola where he was the commercial manager for BP’s first deep water oil development.  Prior to his current role, Jonty was the executive assistant for the head of Integrated Supply & Trading, then Group Strategy, in the corporate centre.

Jonty is currently global head of LNG for BP with a responsibility for the management of upstream contracts in Trinidad, Egypt and North West Shelf, merchant supply from Freeport in the USA and future projects in Coral LNG in Mozambique, Tortue in Mauretania and Senegal and Calcassieu Pass in the USA.  The portfolio includes a fleet of ~20 LNG carriers, regas facilities in the USA, UK, Spain and Italy, as well as long term customer contracts globally.

David Ledesma

David Ledesma is an independent gas and LNG consultant with 20 years’ LNG experience gained through the development of LNG projects in Asia and the Middle East. David provides commercial, financing and strategic support to national and international energy companies globally. He also gives commercial training courses on LNG in the UK and overseas, writes on gas and LNG and presents regularly at conferences. David was appointed a non-executive Director of Pavilion Energy in 2013, a member of the Energy Advisory Committee of JERA in August 2017 and is also a Chairman of the  Natural Gas Programme, Oxford Institute for Energy Studies.

Tarek Souki

Tarek Souki joined Tellurian as Senior Vice President – LNG Marketing and Trading in August 2016. Since joining, he has created the marketing team tasked with commercializing the Driftwood Project.  Additionally, Tarek has overseen the build out of Tellurian’s LNG trading group. Prior to Tellurian, Tarek was VP of Finance and Business Development at Cheniere Marketing in charge of finance for the marketing and trading group.  He also led the build out of the middle and back office functions for Cheniere’s trading desk.  Before Cheniere, Tarek spent 14 years in working in the banking industry, including most recently at Credit Suisse in New York and London. There he specialized corporate and project finance for the resources sector.  He holds an MBA from the University of Southern California and a BA in Economics from the University of California, Irvine.

Javier Moret

Javier is currently Global Head of LNG  at RWE Supply and Trading, one of Europe’s leading trading houses. He has more than 15 years of experience in the LNG industry. Prior to joining RWE Supply and Trading in June 2012, he was in the role of Director of LNG Origination at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. He has also held roles in LNG at Repsol and Gas Natural Fenosa, from trading and origination to shipping and business development. He has studied at the IE Business School, Energy Institute of Repsol and Spanish Maritime Institute.

Elena Sidorochkina

Elena Sidorochkina, Head of LNG at OMV Gas Marketing & Trading, has 16 years of experience in the gas industry, with a particular focus on LNG since 2005. After graduating from the Russian State University of Oil and Gas in Moscow, Elena joined Gazprom Export Ltd., the export arm of Gazprom Group. In her initial role, she was involved in the development and implementation of the first ever contracts for pipeline gas supply from Russia to first liberalised markets in North West Europe. Following a two-year stint in the pipeline gas business, Elena spent a year on the LNG desk of Total Gas & Power in London, after which she returned to the Gazprom group to become one of the pioneer members of the company’s dedicated LNG team in GM&T. Elena was running a global team, represented in London and Singapore, with responsibility for developing Gazprom’s LNG portfolio based on strategic sources of the group (Russian projects) and third-party supply. The team was also dedicated to sales of LNG on a term basis to traditional buyers and emerging LNG markets. Elena joined OMV in August 2018 to head the team in charge of LNG trading and origination, monetising LNG related assets and developing LNG portfolio.

Richard Nelson

Richard Nelson is an Energy Partner with King & Spalding, based in Singapore since 2008. Richard has worked previously in London, Hong Kong and Tokyo and advises on energy-related transactions and projects, particularly in the upstream oil and gas, LNG and power sectors. Richard currently manages King & Spalding’s global LNG practice and regularly advises international oil and gas companies, host governments and project developers and sponsors in jurisdictions across South East Asia and the wider Asia-Pacific region. He is currently recognised as a leading energy and natural resources lawyer in Singapore and Asia Pacific by the leading legal directories, including Chambers and Legal 500.

Patrick Breen

Pat is CEO of Gas Strategies, the London based global gas and LNG commercial consultancy.  Founded by some of the lead protagonists of the early LNG industry in Asia Pacific. Gas Strategies has been recognised for more than 30 years as a leading commercial and market advisor on LNG project and value chain development to the oil and gas industry and to its financiers and on both the initiation and development of markets.  In addition to being advisors to the development and financing of more than 80% of LNG liquefaction projects around the world in the past 20 years, the firm supports its clients extensively on LNG regasification and gas demand development and has been instrumental in the realisation of both land based and FSRU import projects.  Gas Strategies brings particular combined LNG, gas and power capabilities to the development of LNG/Gas-to-Power projects.

Pat has spent 28 years consulting to the global energy industry.  This has been in projects of both strategic and operational nature and with global power and gas players, both as a partner in a Big 4 consulting firm and as CEO of Gas Strategies for the past 12 years.  He has been involved in the development of LNG export and import projects including LNG import projects for power applications.  He advises governments, commercial players and regulators and has acted for the European Commission as Monitoring Trustee on major power and gas mergers since 1999.  Pat is a Chartered Accountant and holds an MBA.

Steven Miles

Steven Miles serves as Baker Botts’ Energy Sector Chair and heads the firm’s 50+ lawyer worldwide LNG Practice. His practice focuses on the energy sector in the United States and internationally, particularly in the liquefied natural gas (LNG), natural gas, electric power and renewable energy industries.  Mr. Miles has worked on over 100 major LNG transactions worldwide, including having assisted clients in launching such leading-edge projects as the first new LNG export project in North America in 40 years (Cheniere’s Sabine Pass LNG project), the first LNG project in South America, one of the first floating regasification terminals and the first LNG imports into new terminals in Brazil, China, India, the E.U., the U.S. and several other countries. He and his team have each consistently received the highest ranking (Tier 1) for LNG Projects by Chambers USA.  Among other industry leading roles, Steven has served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators (AIPN), as well as Co-Chair of the 200 member AIPN LNG Committee, which published a Model LNG Master Sales Agreement for use by the LNG industry. Steven serves as member of the Program Committee for LNG 19 (the triennial LNG conference to be held in Shanghai in 2019), and did so for LNG 18 (Perth, 2016) and LNG 17 (Houston, 2013).

Andrew Walker

Dr Andrew Walker is the Vice President for Strategy for Cheniere Marketing. He is located in London and is responsible for the Strategy and Market Outlook of the marketing arm of Cheniere, reporting into the President of Cheniere Marketing Ltd. Until recently (October 2015) he was Vice President for Global LNG, and prior to that Head of LNG Strategy, at BG Group, where he worked for over 20 years before joining Cheniere. During his career in LNG he has been located in Singapore, Egypt, USA and UK and has worked on numerous LNG projects including Atlantic LNG in Trinidad and Tobago, Egyptian LNG, and Dragon LNG in the UK. Dr Walker has a Doctorate in Geology from Imperial College, University of London.

Ann Collins

Ann is currently General Manager, Gas Market Development for Shell Energy, with particular focus on the role of natural gas in the energy transition.

Ann has nearly 30 years of experience in the natural gas industry. She has worked for Shell, BG Group, Tractebel LNG, ExxonMobil and Mobil in various leadership and commercial capacities.  Her career has spanned upstream, midstream and downstream and most continents of the world. 

Ann’s LNG experience includes General Manager LNG Origination for Shell, responsible for Europe, Africa and South America; Vice President, LNG Supply and Optimisation for BG Group, responsible for BG’s global LNG operating business; and leading various business development opportunities for BG Group, Tractebel LNG and Mobil

Ann graduated from Imperial College in London with a BSc in Chemistry and MSc in Management Science.

Since 2005 Pat has been the Managing Director of LNG Worldwide Ltd, a consulting company offering advice, support and training in all areas of the LNG commercial supply chain. Previous to that Pat has 24 years of experience with the Shell Group of companies both in oil and natural gas. Her direct experience in LNG is in the area of developing and implementing LNG strategies for new market entrants and companies seeking to strengthen partnerships with LNG producers. This includes working in all commercial areas across the LNG value chain. Her work has included working with governments, NOCs, IOCs and utilities and she has advised on structuring and optimising LNG supply portfolios. Coupled with her commercial experience is also a strong grounding in fundamental market analysis and strategic planning.

Bachelor in Law and Economics by ICADE, MBA by IESE Madrid and MBA in International Leadership by IMD Lausanne.

In 1993 he started his career as Senior Consultant in Arthur Andersen.

In 1997 he joined Iberdrola as Director for Corporate Planning until September 2001 taking active role in the Iberdrola Strategic Plan launched in 2001 which actually was meant to transform the Company. In addition, he lead some corporate transactions and power assets acquisitions.

In 2001 he was appointed VP for Gas Procurement, being one of the members in the top management team that set up the gas activities for Iberdrola.

Since 2014, he heads the global gas and LNG activities of the whole Iberdrola Group, which encompasses an overall portfolio of roughly 14 bcma of gas supplies and very recently he has been appointed as well responsible for Global Origination, taking carre of the promotion of the different Iberdrola businesses growth in the UK, US and Contuinental Europe markets.

Laurent Vivier is President for the Gas division of Total, currently located in Paris. He started his career within this company in 1996, holding successive positions in Total’s trading offices in Paris, Geneva, London and Houston. He was responsible for the trading activities in LPG and then in natural gas for the European Continent and North America. He then moved to his current position in 2011, originally combining the Group activities in New Energies. He graduated in France at the EDHEC School of Business, and then obtained an MSc of International Relations at the London School of Economics.

Andy Flower has been working as an Independent Consultant since May 2001 specialising in the LNG business where his areas of expertise include; strategy, marketing, project structures, shipping, pricing, supply and demand and project economics. He retired from BP in 2001 after thirty two years of service, including twenty two years working in the company’s LNG and natural gas business units where he managed BP’s interests in LNG projects in Abu Dhabi, Nigeria, Australia and Qatar and negotiated LNG sales and purchase agreements with buyers in Asia, Europe and the USA.
